Mainz - Rhine River Cruise Worms Mainz

Day 8

We started our day with a wonderful breakfast and again enjoyed the variations in our food.

Spinach Almond Cake was one of Denise's  favorites.

We boarded the Globus bus and had a hour drive to our port on the Rhine River. The day started off with raindrops on the windows so pictures were blurred.

First item on the agenda once we boarded the ship was a nice warm Rudesheimer Coffee.  The mug was beautiful and the coffee was great!

Cruising down the Rhine and viewing small villages, castles, and many vineyards!

Beautiful day for a cruise once the rain stopped.

Most of the grapes have been harvested.  The blue netting is covering grapes for ice wine.  The grapes will be harvested after the first frost.

Lorelei Rock.  Many sailors had crashed into the rock.

The Legend of Lorelei was the navigators were looking at the beautiful maiden combing her long blond hair so they were not paying attention to where they should steer and crashed into the Lorelei Rock.

And now to the city of Worms

Protestant Church that was rebuilt and modernized after WWII

Pastor from Alaska who is on our journey.

Imperial Cathedral

the location in Worms where Luther would not recant

The Luther statue in Worms with his predecessors at the base, 4 supporters at the corners and
though you cannot see the cities that supported the Reformation

One of the cities was "Ulm"
